Grow With Us
At Ty's Garden, everything we do is rooted in five seeds - the things we plant, tend, and grow together: Service, Growth, Wellness, Community, and Love. Like any garden, nothing blooms overnight. We show up with intention, care for what's growing, and trust the process - for our clients, our team, and the space we're building together.
This fall, we're building our first internship cohort: three roles designed to give hands-on experience in wellness programming, business operations, and brand storytelling, while directly shaping where Ty's Garden goes next.
Term: October – February
Location: Southern Maryland / DMV area — some travel required; reliable transportation is necessary
Time Commitment: Up to 10–15 hours/week, depending on role — includes a mix of on-site class/event coverage and remote/flexible work
Structure: Unpaid, experience-based internship with the opportunity to transition into a paid part-time role based on performance and business capacity at the end of the term
Applications Close: September 19th at 11:59 PM
Community Wellness & Events Intern
Master's-level — healthcare or public health background preferred
Own the experience layer of Ty's Garden beyond the mat. This role blends community wellness programming with events and activations coordination — helping design the moments where our values come to life in person.
What you'll do:
-
Support client engagement and retention efforts tied to wellness outcomes
-
Help plan and document our Garden Resets and supporting community programs
-
Coordinate logistics for pop-ups, retreats, and partner activations
-
Represent the brand on-site — vendor/venue coordination and run-of-show
-
Support outreach for local partnerships and community collaborations
-
Bring a public health lens to how we measure community impact
Time commitment: Up to 10 hours/week on average, with event weeks (group events, activations) running up to 15 hours. On-site presence required at events and select activations — these often fall on weekends and evenings, so flexibility outside a typical 9–5 is important.
Should have experience or be proficient in: Canva or basic graphic design (for event materials/flyers), Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, community engagement, event-planning, customer service and light photo/video capture for documenting events.
Business Operations Intern
Open to college and high school students
Keep the day-to-day business running — scheduling, systems, and the behind-the-scenes work that lets everything else grow. College-track interns take the lead on client-facing and higher-judgment tasks; high-school-track interns build foundational business skills through structured support work.
What you'll do:
-
Manage class and scheduling and bookings, and support client communications
-
Help track membership growth and support conversion outreach
-
Support setup of bookkeeping systems and revenue tracking
-
Assist with admin and legal paperwork
-
Organize intake forms and administrative records
Time commitment: Up to 10 hours/week, primarily flexible/remote. Occasional in-person coverage may be needed around class times (Thursday evenings, 2nd & 4th Saturday mornings, 1st & 3rd Sunday mornings).
Should have experience or be proficient in: Google Workspace/ Microsoft Office (especially spreadsheets), online scheduling/booking platforms (e.g., Wix), and general organizational/records tools (Notion); familiarity with basic bookkeeping tools (QuickBooks, Wave) is a plus
Social Media & Content Intern
Open to college and high school students
Bring the Ty's Garden brand to life across platforms. College-track interns focus on strategy and content planning; high-school-track interns bring hands-on production and platform-native instincts. Together, the two halves of this role learn from each other.
What you'll do:
-
Build and maintain a content calendar aligned with classes, promotions, and events
-
Shoot and edit short-form content (Reels/TikTok) at classes and events
-
Support day-to-day posting and community engagement
-
Help maintain brand consistency across all platforms
-
Support our weekly email and content planning rhythm
Time commitment: Up to 15 hours/week. On-site filming is a core part of this role — expect regular attendance at the Thursday 7 PM class, plus content Fridays for batch recording, and periodic coverage of 2nd & 4th Saturday (9 AM) and 1st & 3rd Sunday (10 AM) classes.
Should have experience or be proficient in: Canva or similar design tools, video editing (e.g., Edits, CapCut, Adobe Premiere/Rush), and social media & marketing including newsletter/email tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Wix email)
